Georgia Worthington is a young, up and coming professional publicist with a young up and coming NHL team in Brooklyn. Which might not be perfect but it is pretty damn close - at least until their newest signing is her high school boyfriend and the one person she has ever been in love with. Leo Trevi has been working for the day he gets called up to the majors for a long time. Getting called up when the love of his life is the publicist and her dad - that conveniently hates him - is the coach? Not ideal but he will make it work.

I am a sucker for second chance romance and this is definitely a top-five for me! Georgia is a little battered but refuses to be broken and Leo is honest and gorgeous and so very in love with Georgia that you root for them from the very first page. There are honest hockey issues (rookie hazing, trade deadlines, injuries) as well as honest relationship issues (baggage is baggage, dealing with past misunderstandings, admitting that maybe they made a mistake) and I loved it all. This also skips the angry- you fucked up - arguments that sometimes plague second chance romances.

I am a big fan of hockey romances as many of you might have seen…. (if you need recs - let me know) but this is definitely a good one for that alone. The second chance is a bonus. Not to mention a great relationship with father-daughter AND dealing with past trauma. I will give the warning that this has a rape referenced but not written on the page. It is the first in the series so feel free to jump in right here and the bedroom scenes aren’t graphic but still quite hot.
