Another beautiful novel by Yaa Gyasi. It was sad, emotional, raw, real, and just beautiful. This is a journey of self-discovery told by Gifty, a PhD student in neuroscience. Her work so closely related to her own childhood trauma involving her mother and her brother. It is told through the lens of Gifty and we follow her through this internal reckoning she has with her past and present. I loved it.
