I really wanted this book to be a dumb, fun, quick read that would give me a jolt of adrenaline from a scary giant shark. Sadly I didn’t make it that far. The narrative style is really, really dated and sexist. The opening scene with the shark eating the T-Rex was all right, though it suffered from an excess of descriptive adjectives (show, don’t tell, Steve). When the humans started making their appearances, it became apparent pretty quickly that I wasn’t going to be able to ride around in the narrator’s head for the length of an entire novel. Dnf.
