What a Fish Knows: The Inner Lives of Our Underwater Cousins by Jonathan Balcombe

This book really changed my perspective. The author doesn’t pretend to be neutral, they have a clear agenda, but one that I found myself quite sympathetic to and convinced by. It stayed with me for years after reading it the first time. I was looking forward to a re-read, but got much less out of it the second time. I suppose that makes sense - it was bound to be less surprising and groundbreaking than the first time around. Still enjoyed it though, and refreshed myself on some cool fish facts.
