Seven Ways to Kill a King by Melissa Wright

3.0

So I'm going to be truthful: This book was NOT as good as it sounded. It was rather short for YA, and the plot was both predictable and rather fast. The ending came up quickly.

I think the world could've been fleshed out more (more details please!) and the plot could've been twisted. The characters were . . . meh. They could've been better. I feel like their character traits were basically shown - they didn't feel like real people to me. Like friends. I doubt I would've cared if Miri had died in the end.

The romance that developed between Miri and Cass was fast and also predictable. I mean, any book where there is a girl and a boy on an adventure, they usually end up as a couple by the end. I just despise this trope of insta love.

Don't get me wrong, I liked the ending. This was not a BAD book, I'm just saying it's not the best.
