I haven’t read the first two books in this series and could definitely feel that I was jumping in mid-stream as a result, but Tara and Holly were great characters and I enjoyed the slow burn of their fake-dating romance. Both had believable reasons for thinking they couldn’t or shouldn’t pursue a long term relationship, so watching their walls come down was very satisfying. The surrounding cast of colorful characters added to the story without ever taking the shine away from the leads. However, the town full of happy misfits didn’t feel quite real, so after a while I was ready for the story to move along a bit more than it did. Still, a sweet ride and a fun holiday story. I might pick up the others to spend more time with the other characters, even if I have accidentally started at the end.
Thank you to NetGalley and Forever for the advance copy in exchange for my honest review.
