Now That It's You by Tawna Fenske

4.0

I received a free copy of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

Loved it! This just grabbed me from the start and never let go. Meg is a caterer, who wanted to write cookery books. Two years ago she walked out of her own wedding, unable to forgive her fiancee for his infidelity with his acupuncturist. Through friends of friends she hears that Matt is recuperating in hospital after a minor procedure and she decides to visit him and make peace. When she visits Matt in the hospital she runs into Matt's younger brother Kyle.

Soon Meg and Kyle are renewing their old friendship, but can it ever really work when the woman you love was once engaged to marry your brother? There is also a plot involving an aphrodisiac cookbook which Meg wrote and for which Matt took the photos, when the book becomes an overnight success things get nasty.

I've checked and I've read quite a few Tawna Fenske books, I always like them and sometimes I love them - this is one of the latter. Both Meg and Kyle were characters that I would like to know in real life. Meg was nice, but not a doormat, she wanted to move on from Matt but couldn't forgive what he did. Kyle was a nice guy, he had been in love with Meg ever since he met her 12 years ago but he also feels loyalty to his family. None of the issues felt fake or forced, it was great to see both Meg and Kyle making realistic decisions. I'm only sorry that this seems like it was a stand-alone novel.

Recommended for people who enjoy realistic romances, men who are good with their hands and themed hen party food (I laughed out loud at the menu AND Kyle's reaction).
