Darkest Sin by Sheridan Anne
3.0
The beginning of the book started out interesting. The FMC is kidnapped off the street and sold to an human trafficking ring and although it’s a terrifying situation we see that she is able to hold her own in some way. Chiara does a little damage to one of the guys at the auction then looks across the room to see the MMC. He ends up freeing her. The instalove is also fine but I think the author should have taking more time to have the characters put in time to really figure out what they liked so much about each other. She gets to his house and is instantly comfortable the MMC repeatedly telling her that he’s not a good man or her hero but then continues to do the nicest sh*t to her. Killian decides to erase her whole identity and when asked the question “what do we call her?” Everyone he tells about her his response is “I don’t know” or “that’s not important”. I found myself eye rolling at this and saying why doesn’t he give her a new name already??? Just to end up using her first name anyway. He takes her to a Gala and I started to root for her in the beginning just for her to turn into *don’t talk shit if you can’t back it up* was a person. I mean she broke a man’s nose in the beginning of the book but couldn’t defend herself against another female in the bathroom like huh!! Skipping a few chapters and the ending finally started to get a little more interesting once she got sold back to the human trafficking warehouse and the fight to get out was nice but overall my opinion was this author knew how she wanted the book to begin and end but the middle filler had so much more potential.
