I felt like this story had way more potential. As a woman I felt Yas and where she came from but I couldn’t connect with the characters. Idk what it is. Like something is missing and I can’t put my finger on it. This was very slow paced and a lot of going back and fourth. I needed to see more from Yas and Josiah. What I did love was the representation of therapy. Knowing that it’s ok to not be okay and working towards bettering yourself. Need more of that in the black community. This is my first time reading from this author. Imma check out the second part to this and see if my feelings are the same.
