The Undocumented Americans by Karla Cornejo Villavicencio

5.0

This book was so good. Karla Cornejo Villavicencio tells the stories of undocumented Americans (including herself and her parents) and their experiences. She does so in a way that is empathetic and dignified and humanizing -- a stark contrast from the way they are often portrayed in the media or (most especially) by the current government. This book is beautiful and important and deserves more credit and attention. Please read some own-voices reviews of it.
