Double Blind by Iris Johansen, Roy Johansen
4.0
I have read a lot of books by Iris Johansen, but I somehow had missed this series and ended up jumping in at #6 and it worked as a standalone. I now need to go back and read the first 5 in the series. While this is a mystery, it is not like the Eve Duncan series.
The main character, Kendra Michaels, was born blind but had a successful stem cell surgery and can now see. She uses her highly developed senses to occasionally help the FBI with cases. This story has several things going on in it from blindness, kidnappings, a multi-billion dollar company, murder, some romance and much more. Kendra is a sometimes likeable, often stubborn, strong and independent. This novel is high on dialogue and ends with setting up a sequel.
it was an entertaining, fast-paced novel and I look forward to reading the rest of the series. However, to me, the Eve Duncan series is much better and more polished than this one.
