Of Walking in Ice: Munich-Paris, 11/23 to 12/14, 1974 by Werner Herzog

Wonderful use of language, sentence fragments and ideas as they occur to the author. Loneliness while alone, while surrounded by strangers, nature, in a pub. He feels a strong connection when finally reunited with his friend at the end. I am curious if such a walk today, with a series of B and E's, could be accomplished today. there was so much hunger and sadness in this book. Maybe if I suffer enough I could save my friend. Really great book, I want to reread again in the future.
