I have not read such a rich book in a very long time. It has such a depth that it's a book that can actually change who you are as a reader and person. This is also great to read for comparison of the current migration in the Middle East. I want everyone to read it because you get to experience Shanghai and Taboabo and finally Australia in the early 1900s. It's so well written you never forget this isn't set in today, but a century ago. This is a complete story that provides poetic justice, a happy ending, and the truth about love.
