Nevermore by Dannika Dark
1.0
In this boring novel, vampires, shifters, mages, and more battle... umm... a loan shark.
No, I'm not kidding.
Raven decides that she needs a break from on-again-off-again boyfriend, Christian (don't we all) and decides to spend some time with her father. She learns that he is in some financial distress, and discovers that he owes money to a bunch of lion-shifters that also act as loan sharks.
On top of that, someone from Christian's past has mysteriously returned and has her sights set on him (what about this man is desirable in any way? why are these women wasting their time???).
How will Raven find the money? What will she do about Christian? How fast can I speed up the audio and still be able to catch every few words? Find out in this terrible installment.
As always, narration was great! Just wish that Dannika Dark would have quit when she was ahead here. She has introduced a few really interesting characters, namely Houdini and Switch, but I find myself getting increasingly frustrated with Raven's apparent obsession with Christian.
Maybe if it was explained... like... at all ... I would understand it. But instead, all we keep hearing about is how sexy Christian looks in everything he wears and how he saved Raven from a fire when she was a kid. Which, okay, looks are nice and hero worship is questionable, but that's all this guy is apparently bringing to the table. Pass!
