This book really ticked all my silly little boxes, didn't it? I'm not a gamer, I didn't live through the 80's, and I don't believe I really fall into the target demographic for this book. And yet! Here I am, declaring my love for it. It's a classic dystopian adventure book with a video game twist and a romance subplot I could really get behind. Also...FRIENDSHIP. I love books about friends. This book really had it all, and if it seems intimidating to read through pages of 80's trivia and nostalgia I highly highly highly recommend the audiobook.
