The Last Kiss Goodbye is a dual-story line book. It follows Rosamund and Dominic, and Abby and Nick, with a bit Elliot thrown in on the side. It follows them love, regret, and "what-ifs".

While I enjoyed this book, I didn't at the same time. I love dual story line books and it was refreshing to read one based in the 1960s other than WW2 or further back, it was also refreshing to read about something other than a Nazi Corporal or some historical person, with the author opting for the KGB and spies. The characters come alive at moments but at moments are flat and monotone. Abby is the lead character, going through marital problems, and comes across as a spectacular leading lady in places. However, the other characters aren't so wonderful.

The writing is warming, easy to read and horrible in the same places. At times in the book I got confused as to who was supposed to be speaking and who was who. The writing flowed with confidence but was filled with doubt as well.

I would highly recommend this book to people who enjoy the dual story line idea, but definitely not to people who want a tense romance or a full on spy thriller.
