Started out much slower than the other Riley Sager novels that I’ve loved, and I think I needed more details about Quincy pre/during Pine Cottage revealed upfront. There just wasn’t a lot of character development in the beginning other than she is a final girl, and it made it hard to feel invested in her, especially since we get little to no details about what happened the night she became a final girl. I also figured out the reveal pretty much immediately, but spent the entire time thinking of ways I could be wrong, only to be right at every turn. Still a fun read, and I love Sager’s writing in general, but this just didn’t have me devouring it the way all his others did.
