A main beef I’ve had with folks trying to implement Marxism is their insistence on the primitive accumulation stage transitioning into capitalism before socialism can work. Mariátegue suggested a socialism that incorporated indigenous peoples and was ostracized for it. Good read, but I probably should have just read Mariátegue’s own work.
