Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allen
5.0
This was a lovely, lovely book, with an easy, engaging story. It drew me in right away (had it not been a work night I would have read it all in one go), and I really liked the characters.
There is some magical realism, which I am not normally a fan of, but I thought it was really well done. It's introduced gradually, and I felt that it was almost used as a way to give more depth to the characters. There were some scenes where the magic was another way of explaining the emotions the characters were experiencing (though there were also times where it was clearly just magic ;).
