Genuine Fraud by E. Lockhart
2.0
If you've been here for some time than you know that E. Lockhart's Ruby Oliver series is my favorite. I've read it so many times, and I read it at least once a year. That's why whenever I pick any other E. Lockhart book, I start it with a bias. This time however, that bias didn't matter whatsoever. I couldn't quite get into it. I'm not sure why, either, as the premise seems pretty promising, the writing is good, maybe it's the characters which are well-developed, but maybe not compatible to the plot. I just know that I didn't connect to this book at all.
I'm a bit disappointed. I've started this book so many times in the last year and a half, and every time it didn't catch my attention I wrote it off as reading slump, or lack of focus, even 'not the moment for it'. Now that I actually pushed through it, I'm not impressed, and that's not the way I wanted it to be.
