Flatland: A Romance of Many Dimensions by Edwin A. Abbott
4.0
Flatland is first book of dimensional thinking. Written in 19th century. Social classes has their own geometric shapes. Living in Noble house without Windows divided for everyone to live there, from servants, to gentlemen and children of the owner.
Women in 2D world however, can become invisible as they are lines and as moving they can appear as single dot. Not seen to other settlers. (As such it does make them perfect espionage entity)
So, there is the King to whom 3D Sphere shows in a dream. And describes, at its best, third dimension, depth. After that King becomes enlightened, all by his human “priest”/sphere.
Considering this work as fresh idea for these short before World Wars it makes incredible mark in humans’ way of understanding world further. Brighter future has been already achieved.
