Ain't I a Woman? by Sojourner Truth

informative inspiring fast-paced
"If men had not taken something that did not belong to them they would not fear. But they tremble! They dodge!"

A very insightful collection of speeches from Truth and other African-American women, educators and activists of the 19th century. If anything, I couldn't get past all the religious preaching which often left me exasperated but appreciated Truth speaking out against the injustices of Christianity and its influences on the subjugation of women and people of colour. Other pieces by authors such as (but not limited to) Maria Stewart and Anna Julia Cooper also provided interesting viewpoints and poignant in their delivery.
