The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid
5.0
“People think that intimacy is about sex. But intimacy is about truth. When you realize you can tell someone your truth, when you can show yourself to them, when you stand in front of them bare and their response is 'you're safe with me'- that's intimacy.”
I have had this book with me for several months and a part of me didn’t want to read this because of the hype surrounding it but boy! I was so wrong because as it turns out this book is a pure gem and totally worth the hype. In so many ways reading this book was such life-changing experience for me. Not only is Taylor Jenkins Reid a master story teller, she knows how to depict the subtleties and short comings of human behaviour in a compelling and fantastical way. I know it’s quite early in the year but I am pretty sure this book will make into my “Favourites” list of 2019. This book also made me realize that if I ever gather enough courage to write a book, I will want to write something like this.
Detailed review after a Re-read (because I am re-reading this for sure.)
