This is a book that I would have gone bat shit crazy over as a 16-year old. Would have loved it so much. And I am super happy that high schoolers today have a book like this to read. I think it handles grief and coming out and all the nuances that go with both of those things really well. There are only two reasons why I didn't give it a 5 star. The first reason is that the ending does feel kind of rushed, though it was a good ending. The second reason is one of the main characters does showcase slightly disordered eating habits, and though the author does make a point of making it clear that you should not be skipping meals AND there is a good discussion about POS, it still feels like that plot point was rushed past a little bit. I wish they had concentrated on that a little more, though I understand she was not the main character and the author had a limited amount of pages to work with. TL;DR, loved this book, wish I could read more about every character in it.
Moderate: Eating disorder
