We have a strong female huntress, Zafira, and a handsome assassin prince, Nasir, who end up on the same quest for different reasons.  I loved the dual POVs between Zafira and Nasir. We get insight into how similar they are despite their completely different lives. I love the side characters in the book as well. We get to read about their flaws, strengths, and internal conflicts and feel what each character is feeling. 

This is my first book by Hafsah, and I knew from the first page that she would quickly become a favorite author of mine. Her writing is beautiful and poetic.
