The Hunger Games meets Game of Thrones.

Resume w/o spoilers: In a land where a tyrant has forbidden all forms of magic, Celaena is a 18 year old sent to do forced labor to be punished for being the most dangerous assassin of Ardalan, she has the opportunity of her life to fight for her freedom by competing against the most strong men to become the king’s champion and work for him for 4 years then she could reclaim her life back. But she’s much more than assassin and she does not know that yet.

Key words: enemies to lovers. Faerie. High Fantasy. YA Fantasy.

Character development: yes, so much room for improvement and nothing felt rushed.

Romance: not the main plot and I’m here for it

Plot: this was meant to build an amazing fantasy world around just the first book, there was not a single plot hole. Plot is centered to what is seems to be “chosen one”.

Note: excuse me? None of those fellas are good enough for Celaena, also, I enjoyed her personality so much, she’s a kid with a lot of things to learn besides her tragic background flaws, she’s still amazing and I cannot wait to see her character development within the books. SJM certainly has a gift to write good strong female characters that is certainly something really weak in the genre.
