This was a recommendation from a friend, oddly enough, of Facebook meme circulating currently. This story ended up being a pretty predictable horror-story— which we all know that is not my genre, for books or movies, so that part of the score/read is pretty obvious —but the text is gorgeous. Khaw has some truly divine turns of phrase and she uses the kind of elevated vocabulary that makes me weep and that I'm often bemoaning authors don't use anymore.
