Long Shot by Kennedy Ryan

This book single-handedly made me reevaluate my rating system because after this book I’m not sure the start system I’ve given in the past has been accurate.
These are the type of characters that live rent free in your head. This book was well written . I could feel the essence of each character floating off of the page. I laughed, I cried, I blushed, and experienced a pattern of healing while reading this.
However, I need to mention that you cannot enter this book lightly. There are some very heavy triggers in this book and the scenes do not fade to black. You have a front row seat to pure terror and abuse . If you are triggered by SA scenes you may want to read the others in the Hoops series .
While SA was a large theme in this book the power of a woman and a survivor’s strength equally was represented. It was beautifully written and was extremely thoughtful. The power to live and love again after abuse captivated me and made it a five star read.
