Her Mad Hatter by Marie Hall
4.0
"Bad boys needed love too."
The story starts with a sassy but absolutely amazing fairy - Danika. I instantly liked her because she seemed so different to the fairies we all know from our childhood. She is assigned to the "bad boys" including Hook, the Big-Bad-Wolf, Gerard, Genie and the Mad Hatter to find their perfect matches, the love of their life but so far she had no luck.
The short introduction of everyone was really nice - one thing was totally clear right from the beginning - the "heroes" of our childhood are manly, sexy and well, "bad boys" when it comes to one specific thing! I don't mind, not at all. I had lots of fun to read about the Mad Hatter - this book is entirely about him and Alice - and his Wonderland.
"Wonderland was wonderful, but without a counterbalance, it could turn its inhabitants completely insane."
I don't know what I expected from this book - maybe a fun, romantic read about Alice and the Mad Hatter and how they slowly fall for each other? It was short but interesting, thrilling and sweet but also really, really hot. There were sad moments
Spoiler
Especially the ending, oh my god! I thought everything would be fun after they finally confessed their love and were making little Wonderland-babies but nooooo, Alice almost dies and Hatter goes crazy ahhhh.Spoiler
All i'm saying is: Bread! Hilarious scene! :D"Love might never tame the beast fully, but it would certainly temper the wildness in each of them."
Alice and the Mad Hatter as a couple? The true love that would save Hatter and Wonderland itself? I loved the idea and actually I never read/heard anything like that before. Alice was deinitely likeable and I understood her actions - especially after we find out about her background and everything that had happened before.
"Everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it."
The only thing that keeps me from giving this book the full 5-star rating is the length and the details - we are in Wonderland! I wanted to read more about the beauty of it, the dark sides and about some other inhabitants - I loved Leonard btw! Such a cutie! - and therefor it could have been a bit longer. It's still amazing and I still love it a lot and I already can't wait to read the next book - it's about Gerard Caron, the villain (or bad boy) from "Beauty and the Beast"!
