I'm glad I finally finished this series though I'm sad to say this didn't hit as hard as The Henna Artist, a book I truly adore and think of as an all-time favorite. Still, it was lovely to revisit these characters. I was 45% in before I felt like things were picking up. I don't mind a slow pace, but it felt like almost half of the book was just setting the stage and that could have been done in less time. I did like the review of events from the first two books though. I will always be interested in Joshi's writing and watching her career.
