How the Grinch Stole Christmas! by Dr. Seuss
5.0
In all the years of watching all the movies, I don’t think I’d ever read the book. Deliciously evil and redemptive.
Mother Tongue notes: This is an excellent book to have more advanced students read with interpretive voices and emphasis. The Christmas traditions are obviously American, but don’t mention religious connections, so it’s acceptable in a group with mixed beliefs or only a secular understanding. The spirit of the season is in tact and celebrated.
