This dual-perspective novel deserves an A+! I was hesitant going into this book as I wasn't sure it would be up my alley after hearing that it was based on the Roman culture, but it was done very well! Usually I prefer straight up fantasy but since this was only loosely based on the Romans and still had some fantasy elements, I could work with it. I was kept on the edge of my seat until the final chapter. Looking forward to diving into A Torch Against the Night next!
