The Wild Within by Gwen Martin

5.0

I knew I was going to be hooked on the series when I finished the novella, The Wonder Within.  I was transfixed by Gwen Martin’s writing style and the beauty and depth she brought to her characters. I adore the idea of The Collective - such a fantastic concept that should exist everywhere.

The Wild Within was perfect. Its topics are heavy and emotional, one living with bipolar, the other dealing with sort of survivor guilt and loss. But these aren’t just mental issues tossed in, these are men living real lives with real issues. They are layered and have depth, and they both struggle and shine bright in equal measure.

The care they find for one another is tender and brings the other a sort of peace, but it’s also not a magic fix. But it is beautiful. Their connection is special.

And the ending…it filled my heart.
