It did take me two months to finish this book, but not because of the book itself but because of my silly little brain. This is one of about 5 pieces of media that have made me believe that romance is real. This isn't exactly enemies to lovers, but it's in that vein and unlike SO many books with that trope it doesn't jump directly to them making out and having sex and discarding all their differences. In general, very good. Also the world, the cultures, and the magic system are so crunchy and good. Not to mention the character development and how real and solid these characters feel. Great book! Highly recommend. And an extra recommendation to anyone who's read the Queen's Thief series by Megan Whalen Turner, as the mains have a deeply similar dynamic to the mains from that series.
