Trigger warnings: murder, kidnapping, death of a loved one (in the past).

I wasn't planning on reading this book. I felt pretty meh towards the first book in the series, so continuing wasn't really high on my list of priorities. But after the way the first book finished, I felt like I *had* to continue. And I kind of wish I hadn't. I didn't care at all about the case in this one, and it didn't seem to even really lead anywhere following the events of the first book.

Will I read book 3? Probably, because this one also has a shocking cliffhanger ending. Goddammit.
