The Lake of Lost Girls by Katherine Greene
4.0
This book completely took me by surprise. This was easily a new favorite mystery thriller of 2024. I thought the plot was ominous in a very realistic way, the pacing was slow but steady, and every character was interesting in a different way. I also liked the way the author depicted the moral issues surrounding the creation and consumption of true crime content. I could literally think of 3 different podcasts right off the bat that gave similar vibes as the one here (and not in a good way). The only thing that kept me from rating this 5 stars was that I wish certain aspects of the plot could have been explored a little bit further. Regardless, this was a solid read from start to finish.
