A cozy mystery series can be a great gift, or an exercise in tedium. The Diva Says Cheesecake! is the fifteenth volume in the series by Krista Davis and each book gets a little bit better and a little bit more enjoyable. Davis has managed to add supporting characters to the world of Culinary Diva Sophie Winston that make the community of Old Town in Alexandria, Virginia a joy to revisit with each book. Sophie is an independent woman with dear friends and a thriving event planning business. She has flirtations and romances, but the men in her life do not take over the storyline. I highly recommend reading all of the books in this series.
