Until about 40% of the way through I was not sure if I would continue reading the series after finishing this book. I struggle with world building in general and this first book in an extremely detailed and in-depth series was tough for me. But once I was having an easier time following everything and things were starting to come together more I was much more interested and invested in the characters and their struggles. Many an audible gasp from me in the final third of the book. Looking forward to diving into the next one.
