She’s the only divine thing he’s ever believed in. The only creature in this vast, cruel land who could kill him. And sometimes, in his loveliest dreams, he imagines she does.

I was speechless when I finished this book. The ending was really.. miserable(?) If you hate Nezha by the ending of TDR my advice is don't, he suffered enough.

The opening was promising, Rin got her divine power with her bond with Kitay. They'll fight with Nezha and the Dragon Republic as you expected, it was hopeful thrilling. But then the aftermath, and then the ending..

Will I read this whole series again? Yes I'll indulge in sadness again so I can read their friendship and love.

There was no world where Rin died and Kitay remained alive.
Because Kitay—the third party, the in-between, the weight that tipped the scale—had chosen to follow Rin into the afterlife and to leave Nezha behind. Alone.
