The Sword of Summer by Rick Riordan

5.0

4.5 stars, and it's another hit from Riordan!
I don't know much about Norse mythology (and most of what I do know I learned from Stargate and Marvel...), but as ever Riordan makes it massively fun finding out more, and I quickly got drawn into this latest rollicking adventure with gods and snarky teens. Sure, I can see why some people are having issues with this one, there are certainly similarities between Magnus and Percy, and I can see how some might be starting to find the stories formulaic, but I'm having far too much fun to care in the slightest.
Plus we get some more diversity which is always good, the main group of characters including both a muslim-American girl and a non-verbal deaf character, who I think were my two favourites. And Percy Jackson references. And an Annabeth appearance. Oh, and the chapter titles continue to bring me great joy. Next book please. Pretty please?
