I listened to the audiobook.
The story began good. I was intrigued, curious about what everything was about. From the moment we see the two main characters meet, things went downhill. It started to get boring for me, and too predictable. Bad things are supposed to be going to happen, but you just know immediately that everything will end fine. So I couldn't care that much about that. Maybe the fact that I listened to the audiobook app from my library, which you can't put on x2 speed, is one of the reasons I struggled with the book.
The setting of the book is one of the things that I found interesting. Poor parts of the city are having the plague and the reason why it happened intrigued me. Also the way the Republic thinks and acts is something that makes the book more interesting. Though that ended up being about it for the story. The characters were too obvious, which made it boring and predictable.
