I swear that I love these characters more than some people I know. My heart goes crazy with every book.

My heart was in a vice the entire time I was reading Heartsong. The struggle trying to remember and the struggle trying to remind was just so much!!

There is no wonder Kelly smells like Grass and Lake Water and Sunshine, he is sunshine. Even in his darker points, Robbie not remembering him, Kelly has this positivity that just radiates off the page. In the first two books, Kelly was fairly passive, it’s was great seeing his character grow and him show a little more grit and stand up for Robbie.

Robbie was so hard to read, it was so emotional reading as he struggled with his place and trying to remember who he was. He struggled trying to relegate the Michelle and Ezra he knew with their true personas. The memory flashback scenes were done so well filling in the gaps as we travel through their stories.

While I’m sad I’m on Brothersong already, I am thoroughly enjoying revisiting Green Creek again
