The Raven King by Nora Sakavic

First things first:
**TRIGGER WARNING FOR RAPE AND ABUSE IN THIS BOOK**
The first book wasn't all too graphic but this book definitely is more detailed than the last.
I was a little unsure whether or not the hype was rightfully earned after the first book but oh my was I wrong. This book was incredible and dark and realistically awful and just perfect.
The PTSD displayed is portrayed accurately and it addresses so many real world problems through realistically damaged characters. None of the characters are trying to be anything they aren't and its actually so refreshing to have messed up, dark characters that aren't trying to present themselves as 'good' or trying for a redemption ark. They're messed up, they're aware of it, they aren't about to change.
I just love this book so much and I cannot even begin to explain how much I appreciate the accurate response to abuse and trauma. It's not a trilogy for the faint-hearted but I recommend it for anyone and everyone who is willing to read something regarding the harsh reality of the world of abuse.
