I couldn't get over the writing. The syntax is strange and simple for an epic fantasy - or for anything, imo. Had to bail after weeks of picking it up, rolling my eyes repeatedly, and putting it back down quickly. I'm sure I didn't get more than 200 pages in, even though I bought all three first books
