Body Check by Elle Kennedy

3.5/5 rounded down!

“You’re a walking contradiction, Hayden. Prim and proper one moment, wild and uninhibited the next. And the more I get to know you, the more I like what I find.”

Hayden has spent her entire life being dragged to Hockey Arenas, first as the daughter of a coach, and then as the daughter of a team owner. She quickly decided that was not the life for her, she wants stability when it comes to a relationship, which is why the one night stand she meets in a bar is only going to be for one night, no feelings to make things messy. Brody, however, disagrees. There is an intense chemistry between them that he just can't ignore and while he might be exactly what she is trying to avoid, being a pro hockey player on her dad's team, he's going to try to convince her to give him a shot at more.

This was still a cute and fun romcom style hockey romance that Elle Kennedy has become known for and I did enjoy it. But, it's hard to give this a higher rating when she has so many other books that are far superior and so many other couples that just outshine these two. This is one that came way before Briar in her writing career as well, which you can tell upon reading, it is not her best work, but I still get enjoyment from the story she wove and getting to see how much she has grown as an author!
