Tbh I would have ranked it higher if the first 2/3 didn’t go so slowly. I get we’re dealing with trauma, but it make the plot suffer imo. The last third was riveting in terms of plot… but I’m pretty sure Raven has spoiled the last book for me and I know how it’s going to end. The whole religious cleansing thing felt like a direct rip off of the Game of Thrones Cersei/penance/shame plot.

In terms of spice… I love a good dirty talking scene, but this book got a bit gross for me. I’m not hear to kink shame, but if I dude ever told me he’d “cum on me so much he’d be able to smell it”… gag. And not in the good way. Def not for me. I love more of the slow build tension rather than the over-the-top dirty talk. Show, don’t tell, ya know?

I would also love a Lu/Judd spin off or POV please. I love them. And they love each other, and I can’t wait for them to realize it.

Will I read the next book? Oh of course.
