The Dogs by Allan Stratton
5.0
I should probably rate this book lower, because let's be real - it's not a masterpiece, the plot could've been expanded more, and it wasn't that thrilling, but I loved the writing and the characters. Cameron was a funny, smart guy I could be friends with, and his relationships with his mom, absent and psychotic dad, new friends and other residents of the village were realistic and interesting. The climax was good and dangerous, and I still wonder if Jacky was real or not. I like that the author left it unspecified, it gave the book a little relish. I would definitely read it again if I felt like doing it.
