This was really cute! It says Vol.1, but it can be read as a self-contained story since it collects all five existing issues of the comic. The illustrator’s style is amazing, and the scenes depicting events during the DnD campaign were the highlights of the graphic novel. It deals with joining an already established group, the fear of your friendships dwindling because of distance as some members of your friend group move out of the city you live in and wanting to make the last moments together matter. I love the themes, the diversity of the characters (queer, BIPOC, different shapes) and that we get some insight into each of their lives. But it all unfolded too quickly, so I didn’t have time to get attached to the characters, and the conflict came and went fast. I recommend it for a quick palate cleanser between novels, especially if you enjoy reading about DnD campaigns!
