Moonraker by Ian Fleming

5.0

Compared to this book the movie sucks. They were caught up in the space race of the 70's with Star Trek and Star Wars, they needed a gimmick. Bond movies always make the woman's names a double entendre. Not Flemming.
This story is about England's new defensive rocket, the Moonraker and how Bond is put onto its creator's scent. After teaching Drax a lesson on card cheating he is hired on as the new head of security at the Moonraker launch site since the last head was murdered. And there is still the mystery of Drax's behaviour at the club clashing with his love for the project. Drax is a devious character, but very charismatic. Even Bond gets caught up in believing in him. I enjoyed this book with all its twists and turns and mystery.
