Maybe You Should Talk to Someone by Lori Gottlieb
5.0
WHY DID NO ONE TELL ME TO READ THIS SOONER?!?!?
I’m not sure if it was the timing, but I could not stop crying when I read this memoir. I was very inspired by the author’s openness about her journey through therapy with Wendell (who I’m low-key obsessed with), while also weaving in stories about some of her patients.
I found something to love in each person included in the memoir, which just shows how complex people are and the way trauma and grief manifest differently in each of us. I also appreciated the author’s disclosure at the beginning about hiding her patients’ identities and receiving written consent to include them in this memoir.
